今晚和一班弟兄姊妹去看300。因為之前剛在主日學教完以斯帖記，所以有興趣看看這個亞哈隨魯王。
看後感1：一套沒有劇情的電影可以做兩個鐘都無冷場，厲害。
看後感2：那些練成八塊朱古力的演員，真的搵食艱難。
看後感3：純腎上腺素。

I watched this tonight.
Thoughts:
1) This movie has ninjas and Gollum.
2) Moments of brilliance. Visual poetry.
3) Moments of bad direction and pacing. Snyder isn't Rodriguez.

well, the film displayed the glory and splendor of the Persian Empire in a way beyond my imagination when reading Esther, and it helps me understand Esther better indeed. Of course, I would not take the film as historicaly correct, but it does open up imagination and provided a reference.

Agree. Gollum is such a joke. I have not seen the comics and I don't know how much this character resembles the original. But ninjas... I can just say that in the eyes of westerners, there isn't much difference between diferent Asian countries including Persia and Japan...
Actaully I like the visual design. I like your choice of word - it is poetic.
Tell me more about Rodrigruz. I know he also did films remake from comics. What's their difference?

Yes, it is mostly CG. But all the 8-pack abs are real.
