Worship of Solutions

We are obssessed in presenting solutions in our sunday services. But it is not always like this in real life. Sometimes there just isn't a solution, and we need to learn to live with it.

I don't know about "solutions", but I think sometimes we're obsessed with presenting "formulas" in worship services, e.g. 3-point sermons (I used to have a pastor who always gives a 7-point sermon because he likes the number 7), formulaic flow of worship songs, etc.

People tends to desire a faith that is more tangible. 3-points or 7-points or formulas are all handles for them to grab onto. There is a hint of legalism here.

But faith is not all that tangible. Job never got his answer. But he hold on. That's the kind of faith that we should begin to learn.
