While SF is banning plastic bags
if we believe that Christian should protect the environment
if we believe that we should be the salt and light of the world
why do we need to wait for the law to bind us?
Bring your own bag when you shop.
Refuse unneccessary plastic bags. Ask them to put everything in one bag.
Put a large bin in your trunk to hold grocery.
Take that extra step.

Living in San Francisco Bay Area, I can tell you that people here are very environment conscious. To encourage people to save the environment, some stores give you a discount or enter you into a lucky drawing if you bring your own bag. It's really cool.

We on the west coast is actually quite environmentally conscious I think. Sadly, Chinese people are usually a bit behind. And most Chinese churches do not yet have an environmental consciousness. Just thik of all the foam cups. Churches should really do an environmental audit.
