基督徒放棄在自己生活的社群中間,與鄰舍一起見證神,反而要從四方八面聚在一起,與自己不認識的人,過著自己喜愛的信仰生活,究竟他們看重的是教會滿足自己的需要,還是看不到信徒在生活的群體中,兼負著建立、見證及祝福的責任呢?蒙召的宣教士是指那些放棄與自己生活的社群,走到不認識的人群,通過服事把福音傳開,但現時我們要的是找到一個自己喜歡的信仰群體來加進去。

報載,大學生為了替迎新營找贊助,不惜「孭Quota」找過百人申請信用卡,以圖信用咭公司的巨額資助。
豪吃豪飲迎新,是否必須,我不置評。不得不認的卻是,大學生,又換一代了。
對,大學生,也分年代的。而且一開口,對方大概都猜到閣下貴庚。
剛上大學那年,教務長兼大師兄郭少棠,每個周會都提及火紅年代的激情。自此,我每當遇上開口埋口分享社運經歷的前輩,就多少猜到,他是郭教務長那一輩。社運,是他們最自豪的集體回憶。
我們的一代麼?沒甚麼好晒的,頂多是鬥窮鬥霉鬥捱得。
例如暑假回來,聲大大炫耀旅途經歷的,誰不是睡過火車站,孭背嚢去了四十日絲路艱苦團,晒得一身甩了皮回來?告訴人參加了豪華團嘆Spa兼shopping,不被笑到臉黃才怪!
校園內,不打扮是最常見的打扮。汗衫短褲踢拖四圍行的男生,一個中大都是。如此裝束返學,名符其實「返屋企一樣」。藝術家嘛,穿得有點爛,才夠瀟洒。有內涵,才夠膽不修邊幅,你敢麼?
念新聞系的,更走火入魔。我輩入學時,經濟好得不得了,眼見別人將來閒閒地逾萬元收入,而記者薪酬長期處於八千元低位,仍舊充滿優越感。
當年的迎新營的主題曲,是某師兄寫的,副歌一句「咪再當我老襯,讀Journal不是笨人」,一班人撕破喉嚨唱,愈唱愈悲壯,愈發相信自己是全世界最有理想的年輕人。
窮,是個Icon。夠寒酸,才夠型;真的有型,就不型了。好弔詭,好阿Q。但這不切實際的浪漫想像,竟然陪我們走了三分一世紀,鞏固了我輩的身份認同。
今日的大學生,都把迎新營當豪華團辦了。他們說,不像樣點,丟人現眼。那一刻,我知道,自己老了。

Most people would admit that wasting food is not good. But surely, they'd say, the problem can't be that serious?
A 2008 survey by the waste organisation Wrap, based on studying a sample of household bins, found that we [in Britain] collectively throw away 6.7m tonnes of food each year. [...] As a nation, we chuck away 484m unopened yoghurt pots each year, 1.6bn untouched apples (or 27 per person) and 2.6bn slices of bread. That doesn't even include the food we waste at work or leave on our plates in canteens and restaurants. All in all, we chuck away roughly a quarter of the food we buy.
A huge amount [of food] is wasted during or immediately after harvesting, especially in developing countries, where poor transport and other infrastructure mean that food often perishes before it gets to market. Then [...] to get from its source to our plates, much of the food we eat undertakes a journey of epic proportions, involving carts, ships, planes and lorries, warehouses, processing plants and supermarket distribution centres. At each stage of this journey – inevitably, perhaps – a proportion gets wasted. When all this is added together, [...] it is possible to estimate that more than a third of global food supplies is wasted (with the proportion in rich countries being as much as 50%). At the same time, nearly a billion people on the planet live close to starvation.
[...] solving the problem of food waste is not about us getting rid of supermarkets and all embracing freegan lifestyles. It is about taking a large number of waste-reducing steps right across the food system. [...] first of all, if you buy food, don't throw it away. And second, let's put pressure on food businesses to withdraw the policies they currently employ that cause all this waste."

為人父母的反對援交,真的只是因為「年齡」問題嗎?
我們反對,可能因為我們相信男女關係不是一場交易,而應該着重感情。

一般認為,《香港亂嗡》的原型來自台灣中天台的《全民最大黨》,但我個人認為,《全民最大黨》是源自香港 CCTVB 。這種政治人物扮野搞笑節目,是源自無線《歡樂今宵》趣劇又或九十年代非常成功的《笑聲救地球》及《點解咁好笑》。而最接近《香港亂嗡》的,是黎文卓的《笑聲救地球》以及香港電台的《頭條新聞》[...]
《香港亂嗡》你笑,是因為市民感到政治無力,要透過恥笑香港政治領袖去進行的一種政治參與。這與九十年代後過渡期《笑聲救地球》常常拿「擺香港上檯」的中共政府及英國政府開玩笑同理,因為香港人根本再沒有能力改變前途,中共及英國已經檯底交易決定了香港前途。再加上六四屠殺,香港一片慘霧,人們看到「九七前後」,只好苦笑。
《笑聲救地球》之後,無線試過多次用同一條 formula 製作同類的搞笑節目,可惜統統失敗。九七臨近,拿政治來開玩笑變得危險萬重。無線一改節目的全盤路線。除了一日九套電視劇之外,還有就是綜合節目全線變調。只有兩款,一是獎門人式的挖苦娛樂人物及碧波蕩漾;二是飲食節目,甚麼 Ricky 樣、 Suki 、蔡樣、滔滔甚至美女廚房。其實香港電視台全力搞飲食節目最值得大家玩味。弗洛伊德的心理分析理論認為,人出生的最初兩年,是第一性心理期,名為口慾期( Oral Stage )。嬰兒的快感全來自口腔,包括吸吮乳汁及咬玩具等等。假如這一期獲不到滿足又或者過度滿足去進入了第二期肛慾期,人長大後就可能出現口慾滯留( Oral Fixation )。長大後仍然要求口腔滿足,例如多廢話、吸煙、過量進食。長大後常常希望回歸這個口慾期,於是出現拒絕獨立、依賴他人但又同時控制他人等等人格特徵。於是時時刻刻要別人照顧、時常哭泣、扮作無助等等。
大商家甚至執政者,都希望市民大眾都出現口慾滯留,因為口慾滯留者最易進行思想控制,例如會說出「要飯票不要選票」之類的話,因為他們需要的是照顧。甚至會吃野味、吃狗肉、飲嬰兒湯等等變態行為去滿足過份的口慾。電視台多播放飲食節目,就是告訴大家,口慾的重要性。當一個社會不停提醒你只需要滿足口慾,一天到晚想去「食好野」,弗洛伊德認為這只是嬰兒的心智階段。

曾經,我上過的一個教會,沒有明星牧者,用的是最古老的團契模式。在一個留學的年代,在北美一個不大也不少的城市,服事一群群的華人學生。
一代又一代的留學生,在教會裡信主,被造就,成長;
然後,學成回港,沒有多少個留下。
一代又一代的建立,一代又一代的被送走。
二十年後,再看看這個教會所造就的,幾多的牧者、宣教士、基構同工,人才輩出。
我為當年的牧者,導師感恩;因為你們有的,不是「山寨王」狹隘主義,而是胸懷普世的國度心。

Follow these pieces of advice and I will save you a lot of time. You will be on the fast track to a clerical career:
- Stop thinking independently and keep your own thoughts to yourself!
- Memorize whatever it is you are supposed to believe. Regurgitate! Regurgitate! Regurgitate!
- Agree with everybody and disagree with nobody. Keep your job is job one.
- Plan on never changing your mind or having a crisis of faith or morals.
- Read a room and totally conform to it. Never rock a boat, even a bad one.
- Meet expectations without resentment. You are the composite of everyone’s religious fantasies.
- Keep about 20 years behind the times.
- Criticize everything and everyone who is different from the most popular religious status quo.
- If you have a personality, lose it!
- If you want out, break any of the above.

I once understood the gospel as God asking me to let him into my narrative, to find room for him in my heart and life. But now I realize that God bids me to find my place in his narrative. In God's story, he, with his own two hands—the incarnate Word and the Holy Spirit—recapitulated and reversed the human situation so I can now live in him. Through him I can live in the expectation of a restored world without the presence of evil. Here and now, because God became incarnate and recapitulated all things, I live in him, in his narrative, and he lives in my life, which is to be a witness to his narrative for the world.

對於下個馬季起增加5個賽馬日,馬會公司發展事務執行總監麥建華表示,不會助長賭風。
麥建華出席電台節目時說,在本港七、八月的暑假檔期,不少「忍不到手」的港人都會到澳門賭博,有調查顯示,在08年7至8月就輸送了33億元往澳門賭場。相比之下,馬會增加5個賽馬日,所起影響有限。
麥建華又說,委托中大進行調查,發現參與賽馬的人士主要以30至40歲為主;當中九成人表示,不會因為增加賽馬日而參與更多賭博活動。
